A native of Chicagoland and corporate B2B tech marketing professional by trade, I started gardening in 2020. A few transplants (cup plants, New England Asters, Blue Flag irises, and purple cone flowers, to be exact) from a friend quickly led to an explosion of (mostly) native plants to attract pollinators and passerby. My passion for gardening and garden wildlife has helped me manage stress, appreciate the wonder and beauty of the universe, and bring me joy in an uncertain world. It enables me to meet new people and get dirty – and that means something to an extraverted perfectionist. Importantly, my time in the garden makes me a better roommate to my husband, two kids, and three cats.
